Proteomics and Mass Spectrometry
The proteomics core facility is operated by the Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine and provides state of the art protein identification through analysis of peptides and their amino acid sequence by tandem mass spectrometry. The core facility is located at the Atlantic Research Centre, in the Sir Charles Tupper Medical Building Link at Dalhousie University.
The centre contains an automated Genomic Solutions ProGest digest robot and an Applied Biosystems Q TRAP LC/MS/MS system. Proteins are typically identified from 1D or 2D gel slices/spots provided by the user.
The Proteomics Core Facility is supported by grants from the Atlantic Innovations Fund (ACOA) in partnership with the Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation, CIHR, Department of Medicine, QEII Foundation of the Capital District Health Authority, MedInnova, Romark Laboratories and the Estate of Albert Stocker.
